About Us...

Franklin Taekwondo Academy is owned and operated by Jack and Kathy Smithson.  Mr. Smithson is a 4th degree black belt and Ms. Kathy is a 2nd degree black belt. Both native Tennesseans, Mr. Smithson has lived in Williamson County all of his life.  

The Franklin Taekwondo program is the longest established martial arts schools in Williamson County.  The Smithsons are dedicated to the local community and foster that sense of responsibility in their students. Family is a high priority, and all students are members of their extended family at Franklin Taekwondo Academy.

Franklin Tae Kwon Do is a proud member of the Tennessee Martial Arts Association (T.M.A.A.). The T.M.A.A. was formed in 2005 with the basic principle of creating an association that will recognize the importance of giving to those in need of assistance, whether it is an individual or organization. Tennessee has always been known as the "Volunteer State", and with this in mind, the T.M.A.A. was created.
